My WWW home

If you have come to this page, then probably you know me or you are interested in some of the things I've made in the past. Fall you in the first or in the second case, I hope you find something interesting on these pages.

I am collecting parts of my work and references on this site to have a fixed place to direct anyone interested (that includes me). In this page I have made a short self presentation. But I have also detailed academic and professional info on my curriculum vitae.

If you are searching something related to some of my activities you should check my pages about Philosophy of science and Computer science. If you want to access some of my slideshows or documents, please visit my materials page.

Also, you could be interested on checking my blog.

Presentation

My name is David Suárez Pascal and I was born in the beatiful Mexico City.

I studied BSc (Biology) at the most renowed university of Mexico: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and from 2006 I am enrolled on a masters on Philosophy of Science at this same university. My main field of interest on Philosophy of Science has been scientific explanation, reductionism and particular themes of Phylosophy of Biology. My work on this area has ocurred mainly on collaboration with Ana Rosa Pérez Ransanz.

Another facet of my professional life has been related with programming computers, and specially with the Free Software movement. I introduced myself to computer programming on ~1995 and I was introduced to Free Software on ~2001 by Edgar Becerra with some lessons about Linux and Python at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional. At present I work at the field of scientific visualization on DGSCA at UNAM.

From then to now, I have maintained my activities on both areas.
